About 24 minutes to downtown Boise, and Nampa also has its own growing base of employers and amenities. Nampa workers average 24.4 minutes each way, and about 37% of trips take half an hour or longer (Census ACS 2020 to 2024).
Three districts cover parts of Nampa. Nampa School District No. 131 holds about 70% of the city’s land and Vallivue School District No. 139 about 28%, mostly toward the north; the last 2% belongs to West Ada, formally Joint School District No. 2, per the Census Bureau’s 2025 boundary files. Often the city. Nampa’s Waterworks Division runs the pressurized irrigation pump stations, mains and curb-stop valves in many subdivisions, while Pioneer Irrigation District and Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District manage most of the canals and ditches, and much of the water comes from Lucky Peak. The line from the curb stop to the sprinkler heads belongs to the owner.
The third week of June each year, at the Ford Idaho Center. The City of Nampa says the rodeo began in the early 1900s as a small, local bucking-horse competition.
