Yes, extensively. Meridian is one of the valley’s most active areas for new construction, from production builders to semi-custom homes. The city permitted 1,364 new homes in 2025 (Census Building Permits Survey, https://www2.census.gov/econ/bps/Place/West%20Region/we2025a.txt) and 1,337 more in the first eight months of 2026, and 498 of this year’s units are in buildings with two or more homes (Census Building Permits Survey, https://www2.census.gov/econ/bps/Place/West%20Region/we2608y.txt).

Almost all of the city, about 99% of its land, is in Joint School District No. 2, which has gone by West Ada School District since 2014. A sliver of roughly 1% along the south edge falls in Kuna Joint School District No. 3, per Census Bureau boundary files. The district can confirm a particular street address.

The City of Meridian says it controls no ditch water and does not own or operate pressurized irrigation, though most subdivisions have a system along back-lot lines fed by non-potable ditch water. On state water-resources maps, Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District’s service area covers about 65% of Meridian and Settlers Irrigation District about 32%. Ask for the HOA’s irrigation rules and assessment.
The city’s summer festival, held since 1929. In 2026 it ran June 25–27 across Storey Park, the Meridian Speedway and downtown, with dairy shows, a demolition derby, a sunrise balloon launch and the Real Dairy Parade down Main Street.
