The detail
The questions worth asking
Who owns Timber and Love Realty
The brokerage is owned by Luke Caldwell, who founded both Timber and Love, a design-build firm known for historic restorations and design-forward remodels, and Timber and Love Realty in 2015. Ownership is local and single, not a franchise licence of a national brand. Luke stars in HGTV’s Boise Boys and Outgrown, across more than 40 episodes, and has restored more than 100 Treasure Valley homes. His design book, Americana Soul, was published by Simon and Schuster.
Who you would actually work with
Four people, all named and profiled on this site with their licence history and track record. Jennifer Carr is the Designated Broker and has been licensed since 2013. Travis Bolen is an Associate Broker, licensed since 2006, and holds broker licences in both Idaho and California. Mira DiMaggio has been in the industry since 2008. Luke owns the brokerage and leads design-build; he is not the agent who would represent you on a purchase or sale.
How long the firm has operated, and at what volume
Timber and Love Realty has operated continuously since 2015. The company reports more than $250 million in represented sales and consistent ranking in Idaho’s top 1% of brokerages. Those are the company’s own published figures rather than an independent audit, which is why individual agent totals and licence dates are published on each agent’s page where you can check them against the Idaho Real Estate Commission’s public licence lookup.
Where the reviews are, and how many
The Google Business Profile carries a 4.8 average across 19 reviews at the time of writing. That is a real and relatively small number, which is what an independent boutique looks like rather than a franchise with thousands of aggregated reviews. Reviews are read on Google, where they cannot be edited by us, and a selection of longer client testimonials is published on the reviews page with the client’s attribution intact.
Where you have seen the name before
The design-build side of the business has appeared on HGTV, Food Network, HBO Max, and Discovery+, and in HGTV Magazine, Dwell, People, the Los Angeles Times, and Realtor.com. Luke has collaborated with Overstock, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowe’s, and Walmart. Media presence is not a measure of representation quality, but it is checkable, and it explains why the name may be familiar before you have met anyone here.
What makes this different from a larger brokerage
A small team means the person you meet is the person who does the work; there is no handoff to a junior associate after the listing appointment. It also means limited capacity, and a large national brokerage will have more agents, more coverage, and longer hours. The genuine differentiator is the design-build arm: an owner who has restored more than 100 homes brings a builder’s read on what a property needs, what a renovation will really cost, and which improvements return their money before a sale.
How to verify any of this yourself
Idaho real estate licences are public. The Idaho Real Estate Commission publishes a licence lookup where you can confirm any agent’s licence status, type, and the brokerage they are affiliated with. Google reviews are on the Google Business Profile linked from the reviews page. Television credits are listed on the networks’ own sites. We would rather you check than take our word for it.

Straight answers
Yes. It is an independent, licensed Idaho real estate brokerage founded in 2015, operating from an office at 3024 W Fairview Ave in Boise, with a named Designated Broker, Jennifer Carr, and four licensed agents and brokers. Every licence can be verified independently through the Idaho Real Estate Commission’s public licence lookup.
No. It is independently owned by Luke Caldwell, who founded it in 2015. There is no franchise parent, which means no franchise fees and no nationally mandated scripts or processes, and also no national referral network of the kind a franchise provides.
No. Luke owns the brokerage and leads the design-build side of the business. Buying and selling clients are represented by Jennifer Carr, Travis Bolen, or Mira DiMaggio. If you are looking for a custom build or a design-led remodel rather than a purchase or sale, that is when you would work with Luke’s team directly.
The Google Business Profile shows a 4.8 average across 19 reviews. That is a modest number by design; this is a four-person boutique, not a large brokerage aggregating reviews across dozens of agents. The reviews page links straight to Google so you can read them at source.
The Idaho Real Estate Commission maintains a public licence lookup that shows licence status, licence type, and brokerage affiliation for every licensed agent and broker in the state. Search any name on this site and you can confirm what we have published.
